"Devastating Fire Destroys Historic Harborside Inn on Block Island"

A major fire broke out at the historic Harborside Inn hotel in New Shoreham, Rhode Island, prompting a state of emergency on Block Island. All guests were safely evacuated, and first responders worked to restore water and power to nearby businesses. Ferry service to the island was also restored. The fire caused significant damage to the hotel, with the roof caving in and the central area of the building collapsing.
