Firings in Illinois Office Over Antisemitic Remarks

The Illinois comptroller's office has fired one of its lawyers, Sarah Chowdhury, after she allegedly made virulently antisemitic remarks in an exchange on Instagram. Chowdhury admitted to at least some of the posts, which included statements such as "All you zionists will pay" and "Hitler should have eradicated all of you." The South Asian Bar Association of Chicago also terminated Chowdhury's role as president of the group. The exchange occurred with an Instagram account called Big Law Boiz, owned by a person of Jewish descent with Israeli family. The Illinois comptroller's office stated that it has zero tolerance for antisemitism or hate speech.
