Biden Takes Action Against Book Bans and Anti-LGBTQ Laws.

US President Joe Biden has appointed a government coordinator to address the issue of book bans in schools, particularly those that disproportionately affect the LGBTQ+ community and communities of color. The coordinator, under the Department of Education's office of civil rights, will provide new training for schools on how book bans can create a "hostile" environment for students and may violate federal laws. Other initiatives announced by the White House during Pride Month include support for homeless members of the LGBTQ+ community and safety training for LGBTQ+ organizations.
