UCLA Chancellor Gene Block will testify before a Republican-led House committee about antisemitism and recent violent protests on campus. The hearing comes amid heightened tensions over the Israel-Hamas conflict and criticism of Block's handling of a pro-Palestinian encampment. The committee aims to hold university leaders accountable for protecting Jewish students, while critics argue the focus on antisemitism overlooks rising anti-Muslim and anti-Arab incidents. Block's testimony marks a significant moment in his 17-year tenure as he prepares to step down.
