Florida Teacher Investigated for Showing Disney Film with Gay Character in Class

A fifth-grade teacher in Florida is under investigation for showing a Disney movie, "Strange World," featuring a gay character in class without approval from school leadership. The teacher, Jenna Barbee, thought the movie was appropriate for students to watch since it is rated PG. The Hernando County School District's Department of Professional Standards is investigating Barbee, and the district has since told parents "Strange World" will no longer be shown in its classrooms.
