Harvard University faced criticism for hosting graduation celebrations for various identity groups while excluding Jews. The "Affinity Celebrations for Graduates" webpage, which has since been deleted, listed events for marginalized communities such as "Graduates with Disabilities," "Indigenous Graduates," "Latinx Graduates," "LGBTQ+ Graduates," "Arab Graduates," and "Black Graduates." The university's president, Claudine Gay, faced further scrutiny during a congressional hearing on antisemitism when she gave a non-answer regarding calls for the genocide of Jews. Gay later apologized for her remarks, acknowledging the importance of words and expressing regret for not condemning such threats against the Jewish community.
