Oakland teachers and union make progress in strike negotiations.

The Oakland Education Association announced on Instagram that they have reached an agreement with district officials on four common good items, including reparations for Black students, resources for unhoused students, school closures, and shared governance. However, the strike remains in effect until a tentative agreement is reached on all issues. The strike has caused uncertainty across the district, especially for this year’s senior class.
