"University of Florida Cuts All DEI Positions to Meet State Mandate"

The University of Florida is terminating all employees in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) positions to comply with a state law targeting college funds spent on DEI. This decision includes closing the Office of the Chief Diversity Officer, eliminating DEI positions and administrative appointments, and halting DEI-focused contracts with outside vendors. Approximately $5 million previously allocated to DEI initiatives will be reallocated into a faculty recruitment fund, and the affected employees will receive 12 weeks of standard pay.
