Multiple House Fires Erupt in Tampa Bay Area, Leaving Injuries and Investigations

A two-alarm house fire broke out in South Tampa, with flames shooting through the roof of a home near West Platt Street and South Gomez Street. Firefighters battled the blaze for 45 minutes before getting it under control, and fortunately, no one was inside the house and no firefighters were injured. The fire is believed to have started in the garage and is currently under investigation. Nearby roads were temporarily shut down, but Mitchell Elementary School was not affected.
