"DeSantis Considers Sending Haitian Migrants to Massachusetts as Florida Prepares for Increased Patrols"
TL;DR
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has suggested that Haitian migrants arriving in his state could be sent to Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts, as the state anticipates increased migration due to the turmoil in Haiti. This comes after DeSantis previously sent Venezuelan migrants to Massachusetts in 2022. Massachusetts is already dealing with a crisis of its own from an influx of migrants, with the state's emergency shelter system hitting capacity and Governor Maura Healey's administration scrambling to open new temporary shelters.
