Hamilton County Declares Flood Emergency as Roads Close Under Heavy Rain

A state of emergency was declared in Hamilton County as steady rainfall caused widespread flooding, closing more than 30 roads and prompting an orange travel watch. An additional three inches of rain fell overnight, swelling waterways, with the White River gauge at Logan Street around 18.85 feet and cresting near 20 feet expected by early Saturday. Noblesville schools closed, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office conducted water rescues, and the Emergency Operations Center was activated to coordinate response and resources.
