Interim CPD Superintendent recommends firing officer who fatally shot Adam Toledo.

Interim Chicago Police Superintendent Eric Carter has recommended the firing of Officer Eric Stillman, who shot and killed 13-year-old Adam Toledo in March 2021. Carter stated that Stillman violated several department policies, including the unlawful or unnecessary use of his firearm. The Cook County state's attorney declined to press any criminal charges in the case. The police board will hold hearings on Stillman's potential termination beginning May 1.
