Over 200 new troopers graduate from State Police Basic School under Governor Hochul's leadership.

Governor Kathy Hochul and Acting Superintendent Steven A. Nigrelli honored 238 new State Troopers as they graduated from the 212th session of the Basic School of the New York State Police Academy. Trooper Michael P. Ziamandanis received the Academic Achievement Award, Trooper Kevin M. Fisher Jr. received the Firearms Proficiency Award, Trooper James P. Hennessy received the Investigator Joseph T. Aversa Physical Fitness Award, and Trooper Martin V. Szostak received the Student Representative Award. The new Troopers will report for field duty on June 21, 2023, and will be evaluated under a field-training program supervised by senior Field Training Officers.
