Bug Fire swells to 15,000+ acres as Reno evacuees widen

The Bug Fire near Cold Springs has grown to more than 15,000 acres with only about 3% containment, triggering expanded evacuations across Washoe County including Hungry Valley; a second fire, Fred Mountain, is burning nearby with about 1,393 acres and 2% containment. Power is shut off in the area to prevent ignition, road closures persist on Red Rock Road and Lemmon Drive, and evacuation centers (including for animals) are set up. The Nevada National Guard has deployed two helicopters to support aerial suppression, and residents are urged to monitor Perimeter Map updates and follow official directions.
