Denver Global Conference for Israel Sparks Security Concerns and Street Closures

Denver police will be closing several streets near the Colorado Convention Center in anticipation of the Global Conference for Israel, a four-day gathering of Jewish leaders and supporters of Israel. The closures will be in effect from Thursday morning until Sunday evening. The conference is expected to attract around 2,500 people, while pro-Palestine activists are planning to hold marches and rallies to "shut down" the event. The Colorado Palestine Coalition has called for protests outside the convention center and throughout downtown Denver. Another event, the 2023 USA Volleyball Mountain Classic Boys Junior National Qualifier, will also be taking place inside the convention center over the weekend.
