"Fallen Watertown Firefighter Honored with Highway Naming"

A state highway in LaFargeville, New York, will be renamed in honor of fallen Watertown firefighter Peyton Morse, who passed away after a medical emergency during training. While his parents feel they still don't have the truth behind their son's death, they are grateful for the recognition. The legislation to rename the portion of State Highway 180 was signed by Governor Kathy Hochul, although Morse's parents have yet to hear from her. They hope that the road will serve as a lasting legacy for their son and bring accountability and safety to future firefighters in training.
