Iconic Detroit smokestack demolished in fiery explosion.

A former waste energy facility trash incinerator in Detroit was successfully demolished on Sunday morning. The incinerator burned 5,000 tons of trash a day and was considered a bad neighbor by local residents due to the smell it emitted. The smokestack was the last one of three still standing until this weekend and has been slowly tearing down since its closure in 2019.
