APD Shootout in North Austin Ends With Suspect in Custody

A suspect is in custody after exchanging gunfire with an Austin Police Department officer in north Austin near I-35 and US-290. A shelter-in-place was issued and later lifted as SWAT negotiators secured the suspect in an apartment on Camino La Costa; the officer involved is on administrative leave and no injuries were reported.
