Chemical Spills in Bucks County and Otter Creek Raise Concerns for Philly Residents' Water Safety

Philadelphia officials say that no contaminants have been found in the city's water supply following a chemical spill in Bristol on Friday, but residents "may wish not to drink or cook with tap water" until another update is provided Sunday afternoon. The Coast Guard estimated about 8,100 gallons of a water-soluble acrylic polymer solution was released when a pipe burst at Trinseo, a chemical plant in Bristol. Officials say that health risks are low, if present at all, and that they are continually monitoring and testing the situation.
