Evacuation Orders Expand as Bug and Stallion Fires Threaten Northern Nevada and Surrounding Counties

Evacuation orders and warnings have widened in Lassen and Plumas counties as the Bug Fire and Stallion Fire intensify near Reno, with a stretch of U.S. 395 closed from the Nevada–California border to Constantia. The two fires combined have burned roughly 100,000 acres (Bug about 66,505 acres and Stallion about 33,426), with 0% containment, prompting GO NOW and GET READY evacuations across communities including Spanish Springs, Nixon, Wadsworth, Cold Springs and surrounding areas. Evacuation centers and animal shelters are operating at Evelyn Mount Community Center and the Reno Livestock Events Center, while power outages and road closures persist on Red Rock Road, Lemmon Drive and nearby routes. FEMA has approved a Fire Management Assistance Grant for the Stallion Fire, and officials continue to provide updates via Perimeter Map and daily briefings.
