Midair collision at Carlisle Airport leaves pilot dead and troopers injured

A small Cessna 150 and a Pennsylvania State Police helicopter collided midair during routine training near Carlisle Regional Airport, killing the plane’s pilot and injuring two state troopers who were treated and stabilized at Hershey Medical Center. The helicopter crashed on its side; both troopers escaped after a crewmate helped them out. FAA and NTSB investigators are examining the scene, including radio communications at the non‑tower airport, to determine the cause.
