Remembering Detective Robert ‘Bobby' Garten: A Hero's Farewell

A funeral was held in Hartford to bid farewell to Detective Robert "Bobby" Garten, who died at the age of 34 when a driver fleeing from a traffic stop hit the police cruiser he was in. Family, friends, fellow officers, and the public gathered to remember Garten as a great officer and person. Emotional tributes were given by Hartford Police Chief Jason Thody, Garten's brother Will, and his partner Officer Brian Kearney, who awarded him the Medal of Valor. The ceremony included a 21-gun salute and a helicopter flyover.
