Two men injured in daylight stabbings on Manhattan's Upper West Side near Central Park

Two men were hospitalized after daytime stabbings a block apart on the Upper West Side near Central Park; one man was stabbed in the back near West 84th Street and Central Park West, the other in the chest near West 86th Street. Both were listed in stable condition at Mount Sinai West. A witness saw a person of interest enter a nearby Amsterdam Avenue building about an hour later, and authorities detained that person; motive remains under investigation.
