Las Tusas Fire Forces Evacuations and Closures in Northern New Mexico #nmfire

Air tankers and helicopters were used to aid firefighting efforts to suppress the Las Tusas Fire in San Miguel County, New Mexico. Firefighters worked overnight to secure the perimeter and will continue to secure the fire edge and mop up any potential threats to the fire line. The fire has burned 969 acres and is 0% contained. Structures have been lost, and evacuations are in place for Highway 94 residents from Canoncito to the intersection of Highway 266 and 94.
