Utah Ski Resorts Impose Interlodge Orders After Avalanche

An avalanche flowed into Utah's Snowbird ski resort, prompting an emergency search for any victims. The resort confirmed all guests and employees were accounted for. The avalanche started off-property and flowed across a highway and across a beginner ski run. The resort was put on lockdown due to the risk, and another nearby resort, Alta, was also on lockdown. Some spots in Utah’s mountains, including Alta and Snowbird, have seen record snowfall over 800 inches this winter. At least 22 people have been killed in avalanches in the U.S. since the first death of the season was reported on Dec. 26.
