Utah Ski Resorts Impose Shelter-in-Place Orders Following Avalanche

A natural avalanche occurred at the Snowbird ski resort in Utah, causing a shelter-in-place order for guests. The resort dispatched patrollers and used rescue dogs, radar technology, and probes to ensure nobody was caught under the snow. After an hourslong search, the resort confirmed that nobody was hurt or killed. The avalanche was naturally occurring and not a result of explosives or other mitigation techniques. Utah has been blanketed by snow this week, with Snowbird reporting over 5 feet of snow.
