Wildfires Ravage Northern Michigan, Forcing Evacuations and Highway Closures

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources and multiple fire departments are battling a 2,400-acre wildfire in Crawford County, southeast of Grayling. The cause of the fire is unknown, and a Temporary Flight Restriction is in place to allow aircraft to operate safely in the area. Evacuations were initially in place but have since been lifted. Firefighters are using ground crews, heavy equipment, and multiple planes and helicopters to suppress the fire. The fire has produced an abundance of smoke, and individuals driving in the area are asked to drive safely.
