Maine Braces for Days of Power Outages After Severe Storm Hits

A major rain and windstorm in Maine caused damage, flooding, power outages, and resulted in the deaths of two individuals. Parts of western Maine experienced serious flooding, with reports of people and cars getting trapped. Extensive road damage, including major roads near the Sunday River Ski Resort, has left some people stranded. Over 330,000 Central Maine Power customers are without power, and restoration efforts are expected to take multiple days. CMP has responded to over 15,000 calls for assistance and is reminding people to use generators safely. Cleanup efforts are underway, but river flooding remains a concern.
