Powerful Storms Ravage Northeast Ohio, Leaving Thousands Without Power.

Strong winds in Northeast Ohio caused power outages and downed trees and power lines, affecting tens of thousands of FirstEnergy customers in Summit, Medina, Portage, and Stark counties. Akron was hit particularly hard, with more than 4,700 customers losing power. The National Weather Service had issued a wind advisory and hazardous weather advisory for the counties. Severe thunderstorms, large hail, and damaging winds were possible, and drivers were warned to be cautious. Mayor John Pribonic urged residents to be patient as crews worked to restore power.
