Wildfire Forces Evacuation Orders in Canadian Towns

An evacuation order has been issued for the Canadian town of Osoyoos and its surrounding district as an out-of-control wildfire, called Eagle Bluff, crosses over from the U.S. state of Washington. The wildfire is approximately 4 kilometers from Osoyoos and covers about 200 hectares on the Canadian side and 2,000 hectares on the U.S. side of the border. The evacuation order cites potential danger to life and health and covers the area north of the Canada-United States border to the intersection of Highway 97 and Highway 3, as well as west and north along Highway 3.
