The trip was intended to discuss collaboration with faith and humanitarian leaders and address the migrant crisis. This cancellation marks the second time Adams has called off a trip related to the migrant crisis, as the city grapples with the financial burden of caring for about 65,000 migrants, with costs projected to reach $12 billion by the end of fiscal year 2025.
