Former Obama adviser David Axelrod says Sen. Joe Manchin is "dead man walking" in West Virginia, where he is far behind in the polls ahead of the 2024 election. Manchin may instead run for president as a third-party candidate, which Axelrod called "a graceful exit for him." Manchin says he won't decide whether to run for reelection until the end of this year and isn't ruling out a potential presidential bid. A recent poll shows Manchin trailing West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice by 22 points in a hypothetical matchup.
