Chicago's Mayoral Runoff: Garcia Endorses Johnson, Vallas Endorsed by Tribune Editorial Board.

Jesus "Chuy" Garcia, who finished fourth in the Chicago mayoral race, has endorsed Brandon Johnson in the April 4 runoff. Johnson, who is also supported by the Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr. and newly elected U.S. Rep. Jonathan Jackson, is running against Paul Vallas. Garcia's endorsement could help boost Hispanic turnout, which was low in the first round, and make it more difficult for Vallas to win. Johnson's campaign manager called Garcia's support the "most significant endorsement you can get among the round one challengers."
