China Conducts Second Day of Military Drills Near Taiwan

China continued military drills around Taiwan for a second day on Sunday, with Taiwan's Defense Ministry detecting nine Chinese warships and 58 aircraft around the island. The US said it was keeping an eye on events, while French President Emmanuel Macron called for European autonomy to tackle the Taiwan issue. The operation is known as "Joint Sword" and will run until Monday, the People's Liberation Army's (PLA) Eastern Theatre Command said.
