Controversy Erupts Over Trump's Fox News Defense Secretary Pick
TL;DR
Pentagon officials are alarmed by President-elect Donald Trump's nomination of Fox News personality Pete Hegseth as defense secretary, citing his lack of experience managing large organizations. Hegseth, who has military experience but has only led a small nonprofit, would oversee a vast military and civilian workforce. Concerns include his ability to handle complex national security issues and the potential impact on other Pentagon appointments. Critics worry about his focus on performative issues rather than substantive national security matters.
