DeSantis Signs Record-Breaking Florida Budget, Cuts Funding for Flood Prevention and Black History Fest.

Governor Ron DeSantis signed the Framework for Freedom Budget for Fiscal Year 2023-24, which includes a record $2.7 billion tax relief package for Florida families and record investments in Florida's environment. The budget includes $1.6 billion for Everglades restoration and water quality projects, $796 million for targeted water quality improvements, and $50 million to restore Florida's springs. The budget also includes $1.1 billion for teacher salary increases, $4 billion for transportation infrastructure, and $130 million for public safety salary increases. The budget totals $116.5 billion and maintains healthy reserves of over $15.3 billion.
