DeSantis vows to block Trump extradition after indictment

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said that Florida "will not assist in an extradition request" for former President Donald Trump, who has been indicted by a grand jury in New York City for allegedly falsifying business records in connection with a "hush money" payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 election. DeSantis, who is thought to be considering a 2024 presidential run, has condemned potential charges against Trump and accused the Manhattan District Attorney of "stretching the law to target a political opponent." Trump is the first former president to be criminally charged.
