Donna Deegan Makes History as Jacksonville's First Female Mayor

Democrat Donna Deegan has won the highly contested election against Republican Daniel Davis to become the first female mayor of Jacksonville. Turnout ended at 33%, which was higher than primary turnout of just over 25% of registered voters. Deegan received support from Florida Democratic Chair Nikki Fried but relied primarily on local bipartisan endorsements, including current council members Matt Carlucci and Randy DeFoor and local activists and pastors.
