Feminist trailblazer Pat Schroeder passes away at 82.

Pat Schroeder, a feminist pioneer in Congress who fought for women's and family rights, has died at the age of 82. She served in Congress for 24 years, but was never appointed to lead a committee due to her unorthodox methods. Schroeder helped forge several Democratic majorities and was the first woman on the House armed services committee. She was also responsible for the signing of a family leave bill in 1993. Schroeder campaigned for Hillary Clinton in 2016 and is survived by her husband, children, brother, and four grandchildren.
