Florida Democratic Leaders Arrested During Abortion Bill Protest

Florida's top Democratic Party member, Nikki Fried, and state senator Lauren Book were among 11 people arrested during a protest against a bill that would ban abortions after six weeks. The Tallahassee Police Department arrested the protesters for trespassing after they refused to leave City Hall. The bill still needs approval from the House before it reaches Governor Ron DeSantis's desk. The state currently allows abortions up to 15 weeks, but if this bill is approved, it moves the state more in line with other Republican-led states.
