"Florida Governor Enacts Landmark Tenancy Legislation"

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed HB 1417, a new Residential Tenancies bill that supersedes local regulations, including Orange County's Tenants Bill of Rights. The new law requires landlords to give tenants at least 30 days' notice for termination of tenancy, cutting in half the previous 60-day notice period. The impact on Orange County's ordinance is still unclear, but the Office of Tenant Services will continue to assist tenants and landlords in understanding their rights.
