"Florida's July 1st Laws: What You Need to Know"

More than 200 laws passed during the 2023 legislative session in Florida will take effect on Saturday, including a record $116.5 billion budget. Some of the laws include expanded school vouchers, restrictions on teaching about sexual orientation and gender identity, limits on using TikTok, carrying guns without concealed weapons licenses, and a larger Florida State Guard. Other laws cover affordable housing, tax breaks for businesses, and prohibiting colleges and universities from spending money on diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
