George Santos Admits to Theft Charges and Signs Deal to Avoid Prosecution in Brazil

Rep. George Santos has signed a plea deal with Brazilian prosecutors, admitting to theft and agreeing to pay restitution and fines in exchange for dropping criminal charges in a 15-year-old fraud case. Santos was charged with seven counts of wire fraud, three counts of money laundering, one count of theft of public funds, and two counts of making materially false statements to the House of Representatives in the US. Santos' lawyer confirmed that he is no longer the subject of any case in Brazil.
