GOP Leaders Demand DOJ Investigation into Michael Cohen's Alleged False Testimony and Perjury

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner and House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik have called for an investigation into former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen for allegedly committing perjury and knowingly making false statements during his testimony before Congress in 2019. Turner and Stefanik pointed to Cohen's recent testimony in a civil trial in New York City, where he admitted that his previous testimony before the committee was intentionally false. They have requested the Department of Justice to investigate whether Cohen's testimony warrants another charge of making a false statement before Congress.
