ICE to Deploy Shock-Delivering Gloves for Field Encounters

ICE plans to purchase up to $20 million worth of Generated Low Output Voltage Emitter (GLOVE) gloves that can deliver electronic shocks of up to 380 volts, activated by a button and capable of 30 pulses per second, with activation recorded by microprocessors. The gloves are intended for officers in Homeland Security Investigations and Enforcement Removal Operations and are meant to supplement existing tools, not replace them, with required training and recertification.
