Kentucky Governor Vetoes Transgender Youth Restrictions

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear has vetoed a bill passed by Republican lawmakers that would have prohibited transgender minors from receiving gender-affirming care, such as surgical procedures or certain hormones. Beshear warned that the ban on gender-affirming care would "endanger the children of Kentucky." The Republican-majority state legislature could override Beshear's veto.
