TL;DR
North Carolina remains a key battleground in the 2024 presidential race, with CBS News rating the contest between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris as a toss-up. Trump currently leads Harris by a narrow margin. In state elections, Democrat Josh Stein is projected to win the gubernatorial race against Republican Mark Robinson. Voter turnout has been strong despite challenges from Hurricane Helene, and a constitutional amendment on noncitizen voting is also on the ballot.
