Maine Primary Ballot: Chris Christie's Absence Raises Questions

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie may not appear on the Republican primary ballot in Maine after failing to submit the minimum 2,000 signatures required. Christie's campaign only submitted 844 certified names, and he now has five days to appeal the decision. The Republican candidates who will appear on the GOP primary ballot in Maine include former President Donald Trump, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, and pastor Ryan Binkley. The primary election is set for March 5, 2024, also known as Super Tuesday, and will be Maine's first conducted under the new semi-open primary law, allowing unenrolled voters to participate.
