Marianne Williamson, a 2024 Democratic presidential candidate, has responded to allegations of verbal and emotional abuse towards staff during her 2019 White House campaign. Williamson called the Politico Magazine article reporting the accounts of 12 anonymous former staffers a "hit piece" and a "distraction technique". She acknowledged that she may have room for personal growth and hopes to learn from her mistakes. Williamson's 2024 campaign promises to "disrupt the system" and includes support for universal government-run healthcare, free childcare and public education, and at least $1tn in government slavery reparations to black Americans.
