During a House Oversight Committee hearing, Marjorie Taylor Greene got into an argument with the outgoing Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Dr Rochelle Walensky, telling her, “I don’t want my staff educated”. Greene asked Walensky about the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System, suggesting that the Covid-19 vaccine is unsafe during pregnancy, a claim that has been found to be false. Twitter users mocked Greene for rejecting the learning opportunity for her staff. Studies have repeatedly found that the Covid-19 vaccines are safe and effective for people of all ages.
